1871 document relating to the Troy Haymakers, the club's first season in the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players.  Approximately 4 3/4" x 8", dated October 8, 1871, the letter was issued to Mr. Jos. A. Eddy, a club shareholder, asking for payment so that they club can settle its accounts for the season.  Perhaps the best-known player on the club was Lipman Pike, known as the first-ever Jewish baseball player.  The document is in excellent condition, mailing folds evident, along with some mild foxing and very minor areas of discoloration on the reverse.
