A second, stunning cabinet depicting Harry Stovey, bat at his side, leaning against what is intended to be a base in the studio environment.  As is the case with many of the Gilbert & Bacon photos, this example was used to create Stovey's N172 Old Judge card, catalogued as pose 440-2.  The card has been graded VG 3 by SGC but is simply stunning, clean and fresh, the photo boasting outstanding contrast, the Goodwin & Company copyright information imprinted visibly into the lower-left area of the image.

The contrast is so excellent, in fact, that we noticed something we never had before - very similar to the infamous Hoss Radbourne Old Judge card, Stovey is quite clearly offering an obscene gesture at the viewer by "flipping the bird" at the camera while he holds the bat in his right hand.  His other fingers are clearly folded inward, but the middle finger is quite conspicuous.  A fantastic cabinet photo, originally owned by Stovey himself and passed through his family for decades, depicting the great base stealer wearing his sliding pants, also passing along a bit of a subliminal message.
