The 1894 Baltimore Orioles are one of the most beloved teams of the 19th Century.  Featuring a running, gunning group of players that included eventual Hall of Famers Dan Brouthers, Hughie Jennings, John McGraw, Joe Kelley, Willie Keeler, and Wilbert Robinson, the team finished 89-39 with a .695 winning percentage and a reputation for what would eventually become known as "small ball."  The team capitalized on its speed by inventing the Baltimore chop, manicured its infield so that bunted balls would stay fair, and hid baseballs in the deep outfield grass to use as substitutes for balls hit outside the reach of outfielders.

The manager of the team was eventual Hall of Famer Ned Hanlon, who managed six teams between 1889 and 1907.  Hanlon's innovative game strategies, eventually called "Baltimore baseball" focused on tactics that kept the ball in the infield.  His tactics made him a success; his 1,313 wins rank him 26th all time, including an amazing seven consecutive seasons with .600 winning percentages or better.

The card, graded VG 3 by PSA with an MK qualifier for the owner stamp on the reverse, boasts a clean surface with some image fading typical of the issue.  Hanlon is considered the 11th most difficult Hall of Famer in the set, ahead of Griffith and Radbourn.  This is the only example graded by PSA.
