Graded Authentic by SGC, this difficult N172 card of Pittsburgh utility man Jocko Fields is one of six different pose variations of Fields in the N172 set (not bad for a player who had just 164 at bats in 1887).  This one, catalogued in The Photographic Baseball Cards of Goodwin & Company, is catalogued as pose #160-2.  Indeed, this particular card is the actual card pictured in the book, as it was used for the pictorial example of this card in the book.  Thus, despite having a very faded and worn image, the card is a piece of Old Judge lore.  A "famous" card, if you will.

Population Data:*
SGC Population: 22 total graded, 1 at this level, 21 higher
PSA Population: 6 total graded, 0 at this level, 6 higher

*Note: Neither PSA nor SGC separates N172 Fields cards by pose variety, so it is unknown how many of the graded Fields examples are of this variety vs. the other six.
