Bare-knuckle boxer Jake Kilrain lost to John L. Sullivan in the last bare knuckle boxing championship in 1889.  Kilrain's trainer threw in the towel after 75 rounds (!), the $5000 purse awarded to Sullivan.  In later years the two would become close friends, Kilrain serving as a pallbearer at Sullivan's 1918 funeral.  The finest example graded by SGC with no examples higher, Kilrain is pictured here two years prior to the famed fight.  A truly exceptional card.
