Suffice to say that the expression "Terrors of America" has come to have an entirely new connotation than it did in 1890 when Duke Sons & Co. issued this fascinating and colorful set.  Each of the issue's 50 cards features a young boy involved in a popular game, questionable activity, or assorted mischief.  Each lithograph includes a humorous pun or play on words.

Though the technical grade of the cards in the set would average GOOD, with some lesser and some better, the overall eye appeal is strong, likely owed to the beauty of the lithographs, and the fact that many were clearly stored in scrapbooks.  Several of the cards contain paper remnants or loss on the reverse, and others contain glue stains consistent with such scrapbook storage.  Still, those scrapbooks help preserve the card images, and on cards this beautiful, we'll accept a little back damage in exchange for a clean image.  50 cards total.
