Sharp, attractive portrait card of "Sliding" Billy Hamilton, the Phillies and Beaneaters' Hall of Fame outfielder.  Hamilton, elected to the Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee in 1961, finished his 14-year career with a .344 batting average, stealing 100 bases or more four times (and 97 bases once), with a lifetime on base percentage of .455 that was good for 4th all-time.  The card itself, graded VG 40 by SGC, boasts better than average eye appeal for the grade, the main technical issue being centering.  The overall dark nature of N300 cards, however, makes the centering much less obtrusive than it would be with other issues.  Corner and edge wear is consistent with the grade.  A beautiful example of a key card from one of the 19th Century's more popular issues.
