Heavily used baseball with presentation notes reading "Presented to Nat Strong from Rube Foster and Royal Poinciana Club 1906, Palm Beach Florida."  The Royal Poinciana Hotel in Palm Beach was the largest wooden structure in the world, with more than 1,150 guest rooms, The hotel's baseball club included many Negro League greats who came to Florida during the winter to play ball after their seasons were over.  Strong was a sports promoter and booking agent who also owned several Negro League teams, and booked games for many others.  In 1906, Strong and Walter Schlichter (owner of the Philadelphia Giants) founded the National Association of Colored Baseball Clubs of the United States and Cuba," which played its first season in 1907.  Still legible, a historically important trophy baseball relative to Rube Foster, an important black baseball team from the turn of the century, and a pivotal figure in the development of the Negro Leagues.
