One of the most popular cards of the T206 set and one of the most desirable cards of the game's most fascinating player, the T206 "red background" portrait of Ty Cobb is truly the definition of the word "iconic" as it relates to the collecting hobby.  While certainly not scarce, it still remains one of the hobby's most important cards, and has been, for many collectors, the introduction to prewar collecting.

This particular example is a stunning VG/EX one, with L-R centering issues but bold color and registration, along with four corners that exhibit just moderate wear.  One of the nicer 4s that you're likely to find, this Cobb also features a clean reverse, unobstructed by marks or stains.

An excellent addition to any prewar collection, and a fantastic upgrade to your ratty, old Cobb.

Population Data:
SGC Population:  96 total graded, 10 at this level, 11 higher*
PSA Population: 234 total graded, 38 at this level, 41 higher*

* Please note that population data for Ty Cobb red background cards are likely skewed for both PSA and SGC.  While SGC has always categorized T206s by back variety, there appear to be some errors in categorizing the Cobb card that could result in there being a larger number of Cobbs in the market.  PSA has not always categoriezed T206s by back variety, so there are a large number of Cobbs in the market graded by PSA that have not been segmented by back variety.
