Norman "Kid" Elberfeld is one of the more popular deadball era players not in the Hall of Fame.  The fiery shortstop was known for his temper; it is often said that Elberfeld was thrown out of more games than any other player of his time.  This card, particularly attractive despite the lower grade, features the American Beauty 350 series "No Frame" back.  This reverse, according to T206Resource.com, is the 13th most scarce of the 37 T206 back varieties; more so than Sovereign 460 and Cycle 460, and just behind the Brown Hindu back on the scarcity list.  Indeed, just four Elberfelds have been graded by SGC with American Beauty backs, an indication of the card's scarcity.

Population Data
SGC Population: 4 total graded, 1 at this level, 2 higher
PSA Population: 3 total graded, 1 at this level, 0 higher*

*Note that PSA only recently began classifying T206 cards by back variety, and there may well be other American Beauty Elberfelds currently classified as "unknown back."
