Original owner, collector-grade complete set built in 1954 and stored for decades in a vintage photo album, this 1954 Topps set was well-handled but remains largely clean.  The cards do exhibit edge and surface wear, though many present extremely well given their technical grade assessment.  We selected ten of the set's key cards for grading with PSA.  The overall assessment is as follows:

#1 Ted Williams (HOF) - PSA VG 3; #10 Jackie Robinson (HOF) - PSA VG/EX 4; #32 Duke Snider (HOF) - PSA EX 5; #37 Whitey Ford (HOF) - PSA EX 5; #50 Yogi Berra (HOF) - PSA VG+ 3.5; #90 Willie Mays (HOF) - PSA EX 5; #94 Ernie Banks (HOF RC) - PSA VG 3; #128 Hank Aaron (HOF RC) - PSA VG/EX 4 MC; #201 Al Kaline (HOF RC) - PSA VG/EX 4; #250 Ted Williams (HOF) - PSA VG 3.  The remaining key cards in the set grade as follows: #3 Irvin (VG); #17 Rizzuto (VG); 20 Spahn (G); #36 Wilhelm (G); #45 Ashburn (G); #70 Doby (G); #86 Herman (F); #132 Lasorda (G); and #187 Manush (VG).

A complete breakdown of the set is as follows: 3% EX; 18% VG/EX; 39% VG; 26% G; 14% F or lesser.  A small percentage (approximately 3%) of the cards contain small stickers on the reverse, affixed and written on by the original owner to reflect midseason team changes.  Additionally, some of the lesser-grade examples contain writing on the reverse, or small pinholes at the top of the card.  The keys, however, are generally more attractive than the remaining cards in the set.  The VCP value of the PSA-graded cards alone is in excess of $2,000. An attractive collector-grade set, containing many of the hobby's most important postwar cards, including the rookie cards of Hank Aaron, Al Kaline and Ernie Banks.  250 cards total.
