The Chicago Charities College All-Star game was a preseason game played between the NFL champions and an all-star team of college seniors from the previous season, played every summer between 1934 and 1976, with the exception of during the 1974 NFL player's strike.  Presented here is the program from the very first game, conceived by Chicago Tribune sports editor Arch Ward, who also conceived of the baseball All-Star game.  Played before nearly 80,000 fans at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 31, 1934, the game was played to a scoreless tie.  Noteworthy players who appeared in the game included Bronko Nagurski, Luke Johnson, Red Grange and Beattie Feathers. The piece does exhibit some wear, notably at the edges and spine, including some small tears here and there.  Still, an important program from the very first of the College All-Star Football Classics.
