Spectacular group of 29 postcards, many stadium postcards and some picturing local fields.  Collection include cards of various age, a shoebox collection of vintage postcards.  Postcards include images of The Chicago Cubs Training Field in Santa Catalina (2 different), Forbes Field (2), Navin Field (2), League Park, The Polo Grounds (4 different, three with John McGraw inset photo), West Side Ball Park, Wrigley Field (2) and Yankee Stadium, along with many amateur and school fields.  29 postcards total.

A collector asked that we describe the postal use on the cards, in lieu of a back photo.  We are happy to provide that information - there are 13 cards with writing on the reverse, 12 of which have postmarks.  The cards are as follows:

  1. Navin Field (the one with the image from the grandstand) – postally used, 1917
  2. Chicago Cubs Cataline Islands (the illustrated one) – postmark is very faint, can’t read the date, but it’s got a one-cent stamp
  3. West Side Ball Park bleacher photo – Postally used, 1908
  4. Interior Ball Park (Cleveland) – postally used, 1912
  5. Forbes Field – postcard was written out, but no postmark date
  6. Ball Grounds (Hanover Park, Meriden, CT) – postally used, 1910
  7. Brookside Park, Cleveland – Postally used, 1907
  8. Branch Brook Park, Newark – Postally used, 1906
  9. Chamberlain Athletic Field, Randolph, NY – Postally used, 1907
  10. Hershey, PA (trimmed) – Postally used, 1914
  11. Sioux City Ball Ground – Postally used, 1906
  12. Academy Hall, New Salem, MA – Postally used, what appears to be 1909 (the 9 is very faded)
  13. The Slicer Base Ball Park, Meyersdale, PA – Postally used, no year in the postmark but appears to possibly be 1911 based on the writing on the postcard
