Exceedingly rare advertising pamphlet promoting the E254 Colgan's Chips "Stars of the Diamond" issue.  The flyer was designed and mailed to retail stores, and promoted both Colgan's products as well as countertop and window displays that the retailers could order to help display and promote Colgan's Chips gum.  The retailer could simply fill out the form on the inside of the pamphlet and return it to Colgan Gum Company, and the store would receive the free window or counter display with the purchase of six 20-pack boxes of either Violet or Mint Chips.

The colorful piece measures 6" x 7" and features images of both Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner - two of the most popular players of the era.  Printed on extremely thin and lightweight paper, the piece is in remarkable condition, and comes with its original mailing envelope, postmarked June 29 of 1911 and mailed from Chas. Pracht & Co. Confectioners of Baltimore, also stamped on the pamphlet itself.  The colorful envelope is a work of art in and of itself, the postal cancellation and stamp clean and exhibiting little wear, the pamphlet inside in EX-MT to NM condition.  This is an extraordinary piece, the only other example of which we can find sold for more than $5,000 at auction four years ago.  An extraordinary document from one of the most unique products of its era, and one of the most interesting set of baseball cards ever produced.
