Outstanding oversized advertising display, measuring 35 1/2" x 28 1/2" and featuring Yankee Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra, both frequent endorsers of the soft drink.  Berra was an investor in the company and helped promote the brand to Yankee fans, and in short order was one of the most popular soft drinks in the country.  The likenesses of a variety of Yankees players can be found on the company advertising and on the packaging itself, but this is considered the Holy Grail of Yoo Hoo advertising pieces, and due to the presence of Mickey Mantle, considered by many to be one of the most important of all 1950s baseball advertising items. Consigned from the world class collection of Ted Patterson, this giant, colorful piece is rarely seen, and almost never appears with its original cardboard frame.  The sign is incredibly fragile, the frame constructed of lightweight cardboard, which accounts for why the sign is so often seen without the frame, or with the frame severely damaged.  In this case, the sign itself is in extremely strong condition, only a few very minor abrasions visible on the colorful, glossy image.  The bulk of the wear has been absorbed by the frame itself, which exhibits some minor tears and overall wear throughout.  A highly significant and extremely desirable advertising piece.
