1976 Bicentennial bat used by colorful former major leaguer Lenny Randle, and signed by a number of players that shared the field with Randle over the years.  Randle, perhaps best known for dropping down to the ground to physically blow a batted ball foul in a 1981 game against the Kansas City Royals.  The ball was ruled foul, but the league subsequentlyestablished a rule making it illegal.

The bat, a Louisville Slugger model R199, exhibits significant use, including ink transfers, bat rack streaks, ball marks and stitch impressions, with Randall's initials written on the knob.  Signatures on the bat include David Clyde, Bert Campaneris, Cecil Cooper, Sparky Lyle, Mickey Rivers, Gaylord Perry, Larry Parrish, Leny Randle, and several unintelligble.  The bat or signatures have not been authenticated, but are covered under LOTG's authenticity guarantee (see our rules for details).  It should be noted that our consignor purchased this bat directly from Randle, and the purchase was recent.
