Outstanding nearly-complete set (two of the remaining cards from the set - the Ruth and Gehrig - are being sold as separate lots in this auction) of Exhibit cards from 1925.  The set is popular partially due to the inclusion of Lou Gehrig's first baseball card (one of the hottest cards in today's hobby), and partially due to the large number of stars and Hall of Famers included in the set.  The borderless cards feature wonderful photography, many closeup shots in both portrait and action format, and an excellent assortment of the era's popular figures.

The entire collection has been graded by SGC.  A complete breakdown by condition is as follows:  SGC EX+ 70 (3 cards): Bigbee, Cuyler, Groh: SGC EX 60 (10 cards): Bressler, Freigau, Goslin, Hawks, Myatt, Nehf, Pipp, Shang (sp), Veach, Williams; SGC VG/EX+ 55 (22 cards): Adams, Bancroft, Bassler, Dauss, Grantham, Grimes, Hale, Harper, Hubbell, Jacobson, James Johnson, Kamm, Kremer, Miller, O'Neil, Picinich, Rommel, Roush, ShockerSissler (sp), Ward, Wingo; SGC VG/EX 50 (21 cards): Barnes, Benton, Fewster, Giibson, Gray, Harris, Hooper, Jackson, Judge, Lutzke, Maranville, McInnes, Meusel, O'Rourke, Quinn, Rixey, Severid, Snyder, Southworth, Stock, Todt; SGC VG+ 45 (9 cards): Holke, Hornsby, Mueller, Rigney, Sand, Tobin, Weis, Wings, Wright; SGC VG 40 (33 cards): Bishop, Bluege, Blates, Carey, Coveleski, Davis, Donohue, Ehmke, Falk, Flack, Flagstead, Genewich, Grimm, Harris, Hartnett, Heilmann, Henline, Jamieson, McManus, Mokan, Muesel, Shalk (sp), Shawkey, Sherdell, Smith, Summa, Terry, Traynor, Wambsganss, Williams, Wingard; SGC GOOD+ 35 (1 card); Burrus; SGC GOOD 30 (8 cards): Critz, Gerber, Ruffing, Sheely, Smith, Torporcer, Thurston, Woodall; SGC FAIR 20 (13 cards): Alexander, Bottomley, Brooks, Collins, Deberry, Decatur, Dykes, McNeely, Ruel, Vance, Welch, Wheat; SGC POOR 10 (4 cards): Cobb, Critz, Dressen, Sewell.  Cards present very well, with the majority exhibiting uniformity in condition and appearance, though some have writing on the reverse consistent with their assigned grades, as often found with Exhibits.  124 cards total.
