Outstanding 1980 Wilson knit Texas Rangers home jersey as issued to and worn by all-star third baseman Buddy Bell.  Bell was a slick-fielding infielder who was overshadowed defensively during the first seven years of his career by Brooks Robinson and then Graig Nettles, but who won six consecutive Gold Glove awards between 1979 and 1984, all with Texas.  A lifetime .279 hitter, Bell averaged a respectable 14 home runs and 74 RBI a season during his career, which ended as a player in 1989.  Bell also served as a major league manager for nine seasons - three with Detroit, three with Colorado, and most recently three with the Kansas City Royals, from 2005 through 2007.  In 1980, the year of this jersey's issue. Bell had one of his best seasons, hitting .329, 17 home runs 83 runs batted in.

The jersey has been graded A10 by MEARS, the highest possible grade.  Everything about the jersey is beautiful, the two-button knit pullover signed by Bell near the tail on the left side.  An outstanding artifact from one of the top defensive third basemen of his era.
