Colorful and appealing Cleveland Stadium ticket stub, a phantom stub that has been torn away from a full phantom ticket at some point. The American League pennant drive went down to the wire in 1940, with the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees all fighting for the title.  Cleveland made a valiant effort to take the pennant from Detroit, with six of the teams' final eight games played head-to-head, but ultimately Detroit finished ahead, advancing to the World Series, where they would ultimately be beaten by the league's other Ohio team, the Cincinnati Reds.  Ticket appears VG/EX, with some surface and edge wear more visible on the reverse.
