Bright and colorful Braves Field ticket to the opening game of the 1948 World Series between the Boston Braves and Cleveland Indians.  An outstanding pitcher's duel between Johnny Sain and Bob Feller, played just weeks after Gerald V. Hern's "Spahn and Sain and Pray For Rain" poem was published in the Boston Post.  Sain did not disappoint, scattering four hits and walking none in the shutout win, Feller giving up just two hits.  The game was won in the bottom of the eighth, as Feller walked the leadoff hitter, who was moved over with a sacrifice bunt by Billy Southworth.  Though Feller appeared to pick the runner - Phil Masi - off second, he was called safe by umpire Bill Stewart.  Immediately after, Tommy Holmes blooped a single to left, Masi scoring on a play at the plate to provide the game's only run.

The stub appears in GOOD condition, some surface wear and paper loss evident, along with corner and edge wear consistent with use.
