Collection of paper ephemera related to the St. Louis Browns "Pennant Victory Game," a celebration organized by civic leaders to celebrate and honor the 1944 pennant-winning ballclub.  The ceremony was ultimately scheduled for a May 1 game against the Cleveland Indians, a game that was, of course, rained out and made up the following night.  Of course, St. Louis lost the game, 2-1 in 13 innings.

Collection includes: 1) File copies of letters from O.A. Zahner, the Chairman of the Citizen's Committee, to team president Donald Barnes, and his response, requesting the game be played not at the home opener but on May 1 - the team's first night game.  Both letters are well worn, with ragged edges and mild staining.  2) Ticket order form, listing the number of tickets sold and prices paid by ten different people.  FAIR condition with some small tears and paper loss.  3) What appears to be a list of sponsors of the game, a two-page list on Browns' Citizens' Committee letterhead.  GOOD condition with some edge wear and minor tears, nothing too distracting from the overall presentation.  4) Ticket order blank - a corporate order form filled out by the Laclede Steel Company, who ordered 24 reserved seats, ostensibly for employees.  An interesting collection of artifacts related to the celebration of the 1944 American League pennant.
