Colorful countertop display advertising "Reclu" brand, an over-the-counter product that claimed to relieve gastrointestinal distress.  The brand name being "Ulcer" spelled backwards, there are reports online about the claims being false and misleading, perhaps a reson the product is no longer available.  Regardless, the product was endorsed by then-star George Bamberger, a 3 1/2" x 5" snapshot mounted onto the 11" x 9 1/2" display.  Bamberger signed the display in blue ink, directly on the photo.  Though the piece exhibits wear in the form of corner dings and edge softness, surface dirt, creasing at the lower-right corner and two tack holes at the upper corners, the easel back has never actually been used.  Given that we cannot find any other examples of this display having sold, and the only advertising for Reclu that we have been table to locate are in Canadian newspapers in the mid-1960s, we question whether it was ever employed anywhere.  An interesting advertising display related to the Pacific Coast League, quite possibly unique.
