Outstanding Louisville Slugger model C271 from the tail end of Yaz' stellar career.  The hickory-finished bat measures 34 1/2" and weighs 32.7 ounces, and exhibits outstanding signs of use, including ball marks with bright blue ink transfer, stitch impressions, and a light coating of pine tar on the handle.  Yastrzemski's uniform number 8 has been written on the knob in black marker on a white background.

Yaz was a productive hitter until the end of his career, batting .266 with 10 home runs in 380 at bats as a 43-year-old DH in 1983.  He finished his career with a .285 lifetime batting average and 3,419 hits, winning the triple crown in 1967.  The bat was consigned from the collection of former Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Ted Patterson and comes with an LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with a grade of GU 8.5.  An outstanding bat from an extremely popular Hall of Famer.
