Before we write about this bat, let's take a look at Dave Parker's throw home to nail Brian Downing at the plate in the 1979 All-Star game.

What a play by Dave Parker and Gary Carter.

Dave Parker was a monster ballplayer, the National League MVP in 1978, between 1975 and 1979 he was as good as anyone in the game.  A force on defense and offense alike, Parker's arm was the stuff of legend, his hitting ability with few equals.  Injuries and personal issues hampered his 1981-83 seasons, but he rebounded in the mid-1980s after a free agent contract with the Cincinnati Reds reinvigorated him.  He finished an outstanding career with a .290 batting average and 339 lifetime home runs.

This monstrous Louisville Slugger bat measures 36 inches and weighs in at 36.6 ounces.  Manufactured during the 1980-83 period, the bat shows no signs of player use, but was manufactured directly for Parker.  LOA from John Taube of James Spence Authentication.
