One of several outstanding third baseman to play in the American League during the 1970s and 80s, Doug DeCinces was overshadowed by his teammate Brooks Robinson, as well as fellow AL third sackers George Brett and Graig Nettles, but was an outstanding ballplayer.  His 1982 season saw him batting .301 with 80 home runs and 97 RBI, the peak of an outstanding and underrated career.

Presented here is a beautiful black Louisville Slugger, measuring 34 3/4" and weighing 34.3 ounces, exhibiting excellent use.  A cracked handle is evident.  From the collection of former Orioles broadcaster Ted Patterson, the bat was likely given to Ted directly by DeCinces.  LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
