Inexplicably, it took until 2018 for star shortstop Alan Trammell to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.  The six-time All-Star won four Gold Gloves, posting an outstanding .343 batting average with 28 home runs and 105 RBI in 1987, finishing seccond in the MVP voting to Toronto's George Bell.  Trammell played for 20 seasons, all with the Tigers, this cap dating to somewhere in the final two-year stretch with the club, when he had become a part-time player.  Lightly-worn New Era size 7 1/8 cap, Trammell's number 3 is written in blue ink inside the brim, where the Hall of Famer's signature also appears.  From the collection of Ted Patterson.  LOA from MEARS.
