Complete set of 27 team-issued photos (6 1/2 x 9") in their original envelope, plus an official team game program from the team's early August series against the Yankees.

Loaded with stars and HOFers, the team-issued photo pack contains 27 black-and-white photos of players, management, and Cleveland Stadium (labeled "Home of the Champs," apparently a holdover from the team's World Championship 1948 season).  Each photo contains a facsimile autograph. Subjects include: Ellis Ryan (owner), Cleveland Stadium, Hank Greenberg (HOF - general manager), Jim Hegan, Steve Gromek, Sam Zoldak, Jesse Flores, Dick Rozek, Dale Mitchell, Thurman Tucker, Ray Murray, Mike Garcia, Ray Boone, Allie Clark, Gene Bearden, Bobby Avila, Al Benton, Bob Kennedy, Marino Pieretti, Bob Feller (HOF), Lou Boudreau (HOF), Al Rosen, Bob Lemon (HOF), Larry Doby (HOF), Luke Easter, Joe Gordon (HOF), and Early Wynn (HOF).

The photos are printed on lightweight paper and are thus subject to various condition flaws.  This lot is a solid VG-EX with the primary condition flaw being limited to corner dings and touches consistent with this type of issue.  Edge and surface wear is kept to a minimum, as is any discoloration, as this pack appears to have been stored in its original envelope all these years.  The envelope itself is in GOOD condition at best, with considerable wear and multiple tears, one edge having been repaired with Scotch tape.

The colorful game program (printed in black and white with red spot color throughout) is a 14-page program plus the cover, with news stories related to the team printed inside.  Saddle-stitched (stapled) into the center is a scorecard with both Indians and Yankees lineups printed inside.  The Yankees played the Indians in Cleveland the weekend of August 4, 5, and 6, with the Yankees taking two of three from the Tribe.  While the scorecard has not been scored, some feint and erased pencil writing would lead the writer to believe that this scorecard is from the last of those three days, Sunday the 6th of August.  On that day, the Yankees beat the Indians 9-0, behind shutout pitching by Tommy Byrne, four RBI from shortstop Phil Rizzuto, and three more from second baseman Billy Martin. Aside from the aforementioned pencil writing and erasing (which is very feint and very limited, only in the scorecard section of the program), the program is intact, in good condition with a vertical fold down the middle and a small piece torn from the back cover.

An excellent memento from the 1950s Cleveland Indians season, and a team photo pack loaded with stars and HOFers.  Since cards from this issue can be graded, this also represents an excellent addition to a Hall of Fame type card collection.
