Over a 22-year career, Cy Young won 30 games five times.  Think about that.  In an era where baseball fans measure pitcher successes based on the number of 20-win seasons they accumulate over their career, five 20-win seasons is typically a Hall of Fame shoe-in.  Cy won 20 games nine times, and won 19 games twice more.  The end result was an astounding 511 wins over the course of his career, with an average of 291 innings pitched and 30 complete games a season.  An average.

This is why the best pitcher in each league wins the "Cy Young Award."  Because Cy Young, of all the pitchers who have ever set foot on a mound, accumulated the most impressive array of pitching statistics.  Most innings pitched, most wins, most losses, most games started, most complete games - Cy Young was simply the most prolific pitcher the game has ever seen.

This Turkey Red cabinet of Young is a stunning representation of the man, then in his final season.  Graded EX 5 by PSA, this is one of very few examples this attractive.  The surface of this card is gorgeous, with original gloss and deep color, strong edges and square (and moderately worn) corners.  The 1-75 checklist reverse is largely unblemished, with only minor surface staining visible.  An incredible example of one of the key cards in the set that many collectors believe to be the most attractive ever produced.
