Rare and beautiful pinback advertising Rogers Hornsby Day, on May 22, 1926.  Held at Sportsmen's Park in St. Louis, Hornsby was presented with his 1925 MVP award, along with $1,000 in gold, and a medal for his winning of the Triple Crown.  Hornsby would go 2-for-4 in that day's game against the Phillies, the Cardinals winning 9-2.

The pinback is reminiscent of the very rare "Miracle Man" pinback occasionally found at auction.  Measuring 1 3/4" in diameter, the pinback was clearly manufactured to be given away on Hornsby's special day in 1926, though this is the only example of this pinback in this configuration that we have ever seen.  The button presents extremely well, some minor patina on the reverse but otherwise displaying as NM. A tremendous, rare pinback of one of the game's greatest hitters.
