Beautiful 1923-24 Exhibit featuring popular player Adolfo Luque, the star Cuban pitcher who excelled in both the Major Leagues and the Cuban leagues, eventually becoming a very successful manager in Cuba.  This card does exhibit some wear, but the image is strong, a clean specimen of a tough early Exhibit card.

In response to several phone calls and emails we have received, we're making this addendum to our description: clearly, the player depicted on the card does not - in our estimation or anyone else's - resemble Luque.  Still, this is Adolfo Luque's 1923-24 Exhibit card, similar to how the E98 Cy Young card does not actually picture Cy Young (it's Irv Young), or how the 1969 Topps Aurelio Rodriguez does not really picture Rodriguez (it's the team batboy).  Despite the fact that the cards do not depict the players they're purported to, the hobby still treats them as cards of that player.  Such is the case with the 1923-24 Exhibit Adolfo Luque.

Within hours of appealing to our customers for info on who the player depicted on Luque's card might be, we received an email from collector Len Samworth, who volunteered his belief that the player is Ivey Wingo.  Upon doing a little research of our own, we agree with Len that it is Wingo who is depicted on Luque's card.  Just more proof that LOTG has the most knowledgeable customers in the hobby!
