Incredibly rare Baltimore-area regional issue that featured members of the AAFC Baltimore Colts, the set utilized photos taken from the 8" x 10" glossy publicity shots.  The cards were issued as part of a contest, each card containing a letter on the back.  Young collectors could strive to obtain the cards necessary to spell the word "Silbers," after the Baltimore-area bakery, and win a prize.  Oddly enough, our research into this issue brought us to a story that quoted Ted Patterson as an authority on the set - however, despite the fact that we are currently in the midst of selling Ted's massive collection, he is not the consignor of this card.  The card, of Paul Page, is graded GD+ 2.5 by SGC, with strong eye appeal but some very light staining on the front, along with surface wear and some heavy abrasions on the reverse.  Despite the wear, the card does present well, and is an incredibly rare card from a nearly impossible set to complete.
