Fall, 2020 Auction - Closes November 28
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/29/2020
Spectacular artifact created by a young baseball fan in the San Francisco area, a young fan named Lorne Forbes, who apparently was a patient at a hospital in San Francisco. She created an autograph book, which was signed by a number of visitors to the hospital, including members of the 1934 San Francisco Seals. The most important signature, of course, is the pre-rookie signature of Joe DiMaggio, applied in pencil along with a decidedly DiMaggio-like inscription ("Hoping you get well right away"). Other Seals signatures include Walter Mails, Bobby Johnson, Ike Caveney, Lonny Backer, and Eddie Stutz. An exceptional piece, full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
