**Please note that this card is NOT part of the 1914 Cracker Jack near set being offered elsewhere in this auction.  This card is only being offered as a single card.

The 1914 Cracker Jack Del Pratt is an interesting anomaly.  It is often considered to be the most scarce (or at least one of the most scarce) cards in the 1914 issue, achieving its notoriety largely due to being one of just two cards where the player's pose was changed from the 1914 set to the 1915 (the other being Christy Mathewson, arguably the set's most sought-after card).  Just 18 examples of the card have been graded between PSA and SGC combined, including this one, a fresh example from the Full Count Find, being offered in the hobby for the first time ever.

Pratt was a decent ballplayer, compiling a .292 lifetime batting average across a 13-year career that saw him do time in St. Louis, New York, Boston and Detroit.  He led the league with 103 RBI in 1916 with the Browns and ran off a string of five consecutive .300 seasons to end his career.  He continued on in the Texas League after his major league retirement, playing ball through the 1932 season before finally hanging up his cleats.  Still, Pratt was never a Hall of Fame contender - the popularity of this card is due simply to its scarcity and its status as the toughest card in one of the hobby's most popular issues.

Graded FR 1.5 by PSA, the card suffers from caramel staining consistent with the issue, along with what appears to be a corner clip at the upper right, three other worn corners, and moderate surface wear.  Regardless, a 1914 Cracker Jack Del Pratt is an extraordinary card, in high demand among collectors, particularly approaching the 100-year anniversary of the set's release.
