Exceptionally clean and attractive midgrade example of Hall of Famer Hugh Duffy's T206 card. Depicting the White Sox manager with bat in hand, this is a strong example of the card, particularly given its Polar Bear reverse. While this card does exhibit some of the tobacco staining that is common with T206 cards with the Polar Bear reverse, said staining is kept to a minimum, and is found primarily in unobtrusive places (like the side of Duffy's cap, or along the card's very top border.
Inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1945 by the Old-Timers' Committee, Duffy - who, we've got to say it, looks uncannily like actor Rick Moranis - finished his career with a lifetime .326 batting average, including a .440 clip in 1894 - the fourth highest single-season batting average on record. An extremely strong card depicting one of the 19th Century's greatest players.

*Please note that PSA just recently began to differentiate between T206 back variations in their population reports, so it is entirely possible that other examples of this card may have been graded by PSA and classified in their pop reports as "unknown back."
