"What a marvelous moment for baseball; what a marvelous moment for Atlanta and the state of Georgia; what a marvelous moment for the country and the world. A black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol. And it is a great moment for all of us, and particularly for Henry Aaron. ... And for the first time in a long time, that poker face in Aaron shows the tremendous strain and relief of what it must have been like to live with for the past several months." -Vin Scully

That legendary quote from the greatest baseball announcer that ever lived was still months into the future when these two publications were printed.  Street and Smith's Official Baseball Yearbook for 1974, and Dell Sports' Baseball/1974 magazines both knew what was in store: Hank Aaron, one of the greatest home run hitters ever, would soon break one of the game's most hallowed records: the all-time career home run record set by Babe Ruth.

Both magazines display extraordinarily well, having been signed in blue sharpie by Aaron long after their initial dates of publication.  While both exhibit some wear (particularly edge wear on the Street and Smith yearbook), the wear does not take away from the display qualities inherent in the two.  The signatures are bold and legible, both virtually flawless.  Two outstanding display pieces celebrating one of the game's most important moments.  COAs from SGC Authentic.
