Spectacular 1920s-era display box once housing 24 Spalding official National League baseballs.  Measuring 12" x 9" x 3", the box is constructed of sturdy cardboard, the lid wrapped with red paper with three decals that contain gorgeous red and blue graphics advertising Spalding baseballs.  The box and decals appear to be in EX/MT condition, however, close inspection reveals the top label has undergone some areas of expert restoration, amounting to perhaps 5% of the label being reconstructed using vintage pigment and paper, along with with some repaired tears and some areas of slight inpainting (noteworthy at the top center near the "N" in "Spalding" and at the bottom-right corner).  Further, one of the two side labels has been completely reconstructed, completely new but again made from vintage pigment and paper, an exact replica of the original found on the opposite side.  Some additional work appears to have been done to strengthen and stablize the box, which is extremely sturdy.  A gorgeous vintage display piece, a must for equipment collectors.
