After Al Kaline's retirement at the end of the 1974 season, "Mr. Tiger" continued to have a visible role with the Tigers organization, as a broadcaster, spring training instructor, and special advisor. Participating in spring training (coaching a young Kirk Gibson in the outfield) and playing in various Old Timer's events, obviously, gave Kaline reason to have his own Tigers uniform, long after his career had ended.
Nearly ten years after his retirement, Kaline donned this post-career home uniform, an attractive Wilson size 44 jersey with accompanying size 34 pants, each properly stitched with the appropriate numbering, Kaline's number 6 written into the waistband of the pants. In outstanding condition with signs of heavy use, the button-down, knit jersey is extremely attractive, a more affordable example of a uniform from Kaline. Graded A10 by MEARS, a stunning example of a post-career uniform from Al Kaline.
