Attractive string-bound photo album dating to 1907, purported to have belonged to sports executive Nat Strong.  Beginning in 1906, Strong was the secretary for the National Association of Colored Baseball Clubs of the United States and Cuba, which began its first season in 1907.  The album, measuring 7" x 5 1/2" when closed, contains a number of photos of places in St. Augustine and Palm Beach, Florida (including the Royal Poinciana Hotel), along with some photos of locations in Cuba.  Three unidentified players are pictured, in their Royal Poinciana baseball uniforms, one of whom is on a real photo postcard.  Strong's signed Certificate of Membership in the Sportsman's Association is attached to the inside back cover, exhibiting some age-related toning and discoloration but otherwise strong.

The album itself appears to be in strong condition, though the cover has torn along the spine underneath the string binding, the tear lying flat in the scan and is thus difficult to see.  It is still attached to the book, though tenuous.  Many of the heavy paper pages are separated by thin sheets of onion skin, creating a regal presentation and protecting the photos themselves, which are quite attractive.  An outstanding document of early Negro League and Cuban baseball.
