Yet another gorgeous example of the 1948 Leaf set featured in this auction, card #37 of George Connor is the first card of this Chicago Bears Hall of Famer.  Named to the all-NFL team at three different positions, the three-time All-American is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

His 1948 Leaf card, which pictures him as a tackle, is one of the more difficult cards to find in high-grade in this set.  With just 16 copies graded at this level by PSA, there is just one copy of this card currently available in a higher grade.  Boasting a crisp image, sharp corners and edges and strong centering, it would be difficult to believe that there are any nicer.

This is one of the highest-graded copies of a key card from one of the most attractive and popular postwar football sets.

Population Data:

PSA Population: 186 total graded, 16 at this level, 1 higher.

SGC Population: 37 total graded, 1 at this level, none higher.
