One of the five beautiful trophies offered by Spalding during the 1920s, a high-quality silver plated batter perched atop a large base, the words "Spalding Trophy" stylized in the "sweet spot of a large figural baseball that sits upon a trophy base, which contains an unengraved wreathed plaque attached to its painted wood base.  Measuring approximately 21" in height, the piece is heavy and durable, weighing in at more than 8.5 lbs.

The five trophies, produced by Dieges & Clust, are highly desirable among collectors today, for their eye appeal and their rarity.  Most collectors believe this batter trophy to be the most scarce of the five, particularly in better condition.  This example appears very strong and quite durable, some minor bending to the baseball bat which is common to the piece, a light patina adding character throughout.  A tremendous example of this widely sought-after, rare and valuable figural piece.
